Data Protection
Data about members and applicants for membership is kept securely by the club in keeping with the principles of the Data Protection Act.
On-line applications are automatically included in a database and paper applications are added by the secretary.

The data that we keep (and its use, and by whom) is explained in more detail in the club publication "Your Data" available at the club. This is a brief summary:

Data we keep is limited to:
when you apply- the data that you supply in your application form
if you apply on line- your ISP address (as a guard against misuse of the forms)
subsequently- any amendments to the data such as change of phone number etc
subsequently- current information as to whether you have paid membership and UKA fees

This data is kept in an on-line database which ia accessible to club secretary, data controller, coaches and team managers via password-protected pages. Data visible to each is limited to the requirements of their positions; only the club secretary and data controller can access the whole record or alter it.

As provided in the DPA you have the right to be told what is contained in your database record if you wish and we will be pleased to co-operate with your request.
