Northern Athletics Road Relays, 2nd October 2010
Thu 08 Jul 10 181
The event this year will take place in Wythenshawe Park, Manchester.
For the first time the 3 relay events; Men's 6 stage, Women's 4 stage and Young Athletes relays will take place on the same day.(The young athletes relays have usually been on the following day.
It's hoped that combining the events will mean less travel for club managers and officials, and will create a better atmosphere with all athletes at the same venue on the same day.
We hope to have teams in all categories.

ERRA National 12 & 6 stage relays; 17th April Sutton Park
Tue 20 Apr 10 176
Congratulations to the athletes who turned out on Saturday, in the best weather so far this year, to again ensure that the club had two full teams.
The men's team finished 42nd (12th Northern team) in 4:48.48 and the women's team finished 21st (5th Northern team) in 1:57.05.
This is the 5th consectutive year that the mens team has qualified and turned out a full team, and the 4th consecutive year that the women have done so.
This is a tribute to the athletes, coaches and team managers - it isn't easy getting full teams out (Especially when 2 of your 6 female runners are stuck in holiday /training destinations due to Volcanic ash clouds), and it isn't easy to qualify for the national event.
Thanks are due to Pete Shaw & Pete Neal for all their efforts in entering athletes and organising the teams.
Jenny Blizard had a great run to finish 10th fastest overall, and the women's team was strengthened by Debbie Mason's debut competition run for the club (Delayed by some 2 years due to injury).

Photos of some of the athletes (apologies to those I missed) are on the road section gallery.

The ladies team of Jenny Blizard, Abbie Vernon, Jess Fawcett, Stef Burns, Robyn Lanceley and Janet Hindley did extremely well and should be very pleased with their 5th place performance.
Inter Counties Cross Country Champs (inc World Trials)
Tue 16 Mar 10 174
This annual championship event took place at this new venue, having previously been held at Wollaton Park Nottingham for the last 5 years or so.
The new venue proved an excellent one with good underfoot conditions on a well laid out course, that provided good spectator access and views.
9 athletes from Rotherham harriers & AC had been selected to represent their county teams. Our catchment area means that members are resident in at least 3 counties. The event was the selection event for the Uk team for the World Cross Country event, and as such the standard of competition was extremely high.
